So, theatre organizations across the nation are staging The Future is Female Festival, which features staged readings and productions of plays written by women of varied backgrounds.

Houston theatre groups Collective 48 and Mildred’s Umbrella are participating, and Michael Hagerty talked with organizers Brandy N. Carie and Dana Bowman to find out more.

The Festival takes place March 15 and 19 at Studio 101 and March 26 at Main Street Theatre.
