Houston Poet Bruno Rios. (Photo: Courtesy of the Artist)We meet Bruno Ríos. He’s a poet, novelist, translator and Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Hispanic Studies of the University of Houston.

His academic and creative work has been published in numerous magazines and journals in the United States, Mexico and several countries in Latin America.

Specialized in contemporary Mexican literature, his academic work explores the intersections between poetry and politics in the last 20 years, as well as topics like the discourse of violence and the regional implications of the border in recent Mexican poetry.

His most recent poetry collection is called Cueva de leones.
