Galveston Artist Residency Offers Refuge for Creativity

Artist residencies generally offer places for selected artists or writers or academics to retreat from the real world and explore their work with no time constraints or rules involved. Usually that’s in a setting far off the grid.

And while the first part’s true for the artists of the Galveston Artist Residency, the particular setting they offer is of one of an urban island, offering a landscape of dichotomies, quirkiness, and just enough funkiness to brew up fresh ideas. Paige Phelps explores.
